Biography
Dr. Yousef H. Aldebasi obtained his BSc from King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA in 1992 and his PhD, in 2000, from the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences, Cardiff, UK and holds the title of FAAO. He was appointed as Assistant professor, Department of Optometry, King Saud University, Riyadh, KSA in 2001. Currently he holds the rank of Professor in Department of Optometry, Dean of College of Applied Medical Sciences, Qassim University and the President of Saudi Association of Optometry. Dr. Aldebasi took over the responsibility to improve optometric services as well as education in Saudi Arabia where he has introduced number of programs aimed to improve the quality of optometric /visual care delivered to Saudi citizens and residents. He is directing a Doctor of Optometry program in cooperation with Salus University to provide strategic collaboration designed to advance Qassim’s optometric educational program.
Research Interest
His research interest is in Retinal Cone Photoreceptor Cells, Refractive Errors, Diabetic Retinopathy and Glaucoma.
